Dr. Iftikhar Arshad

Dr. Iftikhar Arshad is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Prabhudhan Degree College. “History education helps students understand the past, analyze present developments, and develop informed perspectives for building a better future.” He holds a Ph.D. in History from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, and has qualified the State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), reflecting his strong academic and research foundation. He completed his M.A. in History from Veer Kunwar Singh University, Ara, and his B.A. (Honours) in History from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, and throughout his academic journey, he has focused on developing strong analytical and historical understanding among students. With significant experience in higher education, he has previously served as an Assistant Professor at Azad Teaching Institute, Ara, before joining the present institution, and his teaching approach emphasizes critical analysis, discussion-based learning, and encouraging students to explore historical research and interpretation. Dr. Arshad has contributed extensively to academic research through numerous publications in national and international journals, with research interests focused on the Indian National Movement, socio-economic history, and the contributions of leaders and communities in India’s freedom struggle, and he has also presented research papers at various conferences and seminars. In addition to teaching and research, he actively contributes to institutional responsibilities as Head of the Alumni Committee, Transport Committee, Documentation Cell, and Admission Cell, and is also a member of the Examination Committee, SC & ST Welfare Committee, Student Disciplinary Council, and Grievance Redressal Committee. He regularly participates in faculty development programmes, workshops, and academic training to enhance his teaching and research practices. As a faculty member, he remains committed to promoting historical awareness, academic excellence, and intellectual growth among students. “Understanding history empowers society to learn from the past and shape a better future.”
